Malanga is an Afro-trap and melodic hip-hop artist from Gugulethu NY147 in Cape Town, South Africa.

Raised in an environment surrounded by struggle and violence, Malanga grew up facing the harsh realities of street life. As a young man he was once connected to a local street group known as Japan, where survival and reputation often meant everything.

But deep inside him was something different. Music.

What started as a way to escape the chaos of the streets slowly became a powerful voice for his life story. Malanga began turning pain, struggle, and real experiences into music that speaks directly to the soul.

His sound blends Afro trap rhythms, melodic rap flows, and emotional storytelling, creating music that reflects both the streets he came from and the future he is building.

Over the years Malanga has collaborated with talented emerging artists such as:

Between 2019 and 2021, Malanga worked with Shmonty Records, where he crafted and released the project Steezy II. During that time the label also worked with artists including:

• Cardnego
• Rack River
• Billy Black

Steezy II was distributed by Ballout Records, helping introduce Malanga’s sound to a growing audience.

Now Malanga is preparing the next chapter.
